SUSSEX COUNTY BOWLING ASSOCIATION
NOTICE OF CHILD AND VULNERABLE ADULT PROTECTION POLICY

Sussex County Bowling Association fully accept its legal and moral obligation to exercise its duty of care and to protect all children and vulnerable adults participating in its activities, and to safeguard their welfare.

We are committed to do this by acknowledging that:

1.      ·         the welfare of the individual is paramount;

2.      ·         each individual irrespective of age, gender, religion, race, sexual orientation or disability has the right to protection from abuse;

3.      ·         each individual has a right to be safe, and to be treated with respect and dignity

We shall use our best endeavours to ensure that:

4.      ·         all allegations of abuse are taken seriously;

5.      ·         the response to them is swift and appropriate;

6.      ·         the effectiveness of our policy is reviewed annually;

7.      ·         a responsible person shall be appointed annually as County Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Officer to whom clubs can address any concerns

We shall support clubs by:

·         Providing appropriate training for Club Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Officers

·         Keep clubs updated with information regarding safeguarding and legislation primarily through the SCBA website
